The Fraters of Edmonton Preceptory #46 were honoured with the attendance of our Supreme Grand Master Clive Stephenson, Grand Cross of the Temple (SGM) to our October 8, 2025 regular meeting. The time and effort of this visit was clearly understood by all since our SGM lives in Sudbury, Ontario. A four-hour drive to the Toronto airport, providing a clear 2 hour security check, plus a 4-hour flight, makes for a long day. Arriving on October 7th, our past Supreme Grand Master Gerry Tetzloff, Grand Cross of the Temple, and wife Anita, hosted our SGM overnight in their residence during this visit.
Our SGM participated in our executive meeting at 6pm before the 6:30 banquet held in his honour. A special cake was prepared for the full enjoyment for all present. The business part of the meeting was deferred pending completion of the Consecration Order for five newly minted Sir Knights. They then joined 30 Sir Knights in attendance for the business portion of the meeting wherein our SGM assisted in the presentation of the Preceptor’s Certificate to Em. Kt. Michael Ryan. Our Presiding Preceptor Bob Lemmens also gifted on behalf of Edmonton Preceptory an original watercolour mountain view in Jasper National Park to our surprised SGM. This painting was made specifically for our SGM by Sir Knight Sandy Robinson who lives in Jasper, Alberta.
A 9am drive on October 9th to the Edmonton airport for a noon flight to Toronto still left our SGM a 4-hour drive back to his home in Sudbury. So, a 4 ½ hour meeting in Edmonton requires the dedication of 3 full days. For that the Fraters of Edmonton Preceptory #46 are extremely grateful.
R. Em. Kt. Terry Gould, K.C.T.
